Borgo Ticino is a village of a few thousand inhabitants in the province of Novara, set against the Parco del Ticino, halfway between the Lago Maggiore and the Malpensa airport. It is not a tourist destination, and that is exactly why it is convenient: from here you can reach Arona in 10-15 minutes and the Malpensa terminal in about twenty, but you sleep at the price and in the quiet of a village, not in the lakeside centre.
People who stay here are usually one of three types: those with an early flight who don’t want to wake up at four in Milan; those who come to see Lake Maggiore and prefer a house with space to relax rather than a lakeside room; and those working in the area for a few weeks who need a kitchen, washing machine and a proper desk.

Where to sleep in Borgo Ticino and what’s nearby
The village
The village has everyday services; for major shopping there's a supermarket a few minutes by car. Our house, the Da Vinci Garden Suite, has two bedrooms, six beds, a private garden and free on-street parking in front — things you won't find on the lake at the same price.
Towards the airport
Malpensa is about twenty minutes by car: you can arrive comfortably even for a six o’clock flight, and with autonomous check‑in you can enter the house at any hour the night before.
Towards the lake
Arona is 10-15 minutes away, Sesto Calende a little further; Stresa and the Borromean Islands are further north. Castelletto Ticino, on the border between the two provinces, is the true gateway to the lake.

Rocca di Angera
On the opposite shore, with the doll museum; by car you go via Sesto Calende.
Sesto Calende
Where the Ticino leaves the lake: riverside walk and good fish restaurants.
Vicolungo Outlet
On the road to Novara.

Perch and whitefish on the lake; on the Piedmont side the paniscia of Novara and gorgonzola.
